The following devotions are available not only for your own edification, but to share with your outposts:

The Love of God

None of us have to face to what we have to face, alone. No matter how it feels sometimes, no matter what people say, no matter how many come by long or go away, we don't have to face what we have to face, alone.

Our hearts may be empty of human love, our souls may cry for something that may never come along, our mind may be full of fear and anger, backed the there is more to being human then mere human desires. There is more to the heart than pangs of pain, or Cupid, or flowers or poetry. The world is wrong - as always. We don't have to face what we have to face, alone

Our souls, our hearts, our lives have all designed for a relationship with God, everything else ultimately falls short and pain fills a void God created to be filled with His love and strength.

Through faith, Jesus offers us the hope of tomorrow and their strength to get us through it. We don’t have to face what we have to face, alone. The love He offers us is for everyone on earth! You, me, everybody! Yesterday, today and forever!

The desire to do His work, to be the best we can be, to give to Him of what we can, comes from the love we also have for Him. It doesn't matter how our human relationships work out, a relationship with God is altogether different.

God doesn't jump to conclusions, He doesn't talk behind our backs, He doesn't insult us, He doesn't reject us when we come to Him, He doesn't do and say things off the cuff He made later regret, He doesn't laugh at us, He doesn't try to irrevocable hurt  us or do any number of things humans can be guilty of.

As God loves us, we too should love Him and get to know Him through His everlasting word. A two way love is always the strongest and most powerful form of  love. We have to allow Gods love and Grace to fill our lives as we reach up to Him through faith. By giving all the glory to Him we bring glory to His name for all the people around us. God will always honour His promises. None of us have to face what we have to face, alone.

God's Grace

Scripture:  Ephesians 1:7

By God's grace I am what I am.

GRACE: this is one of God's attributes that is given injury the moment we try to verbalise it either as a doctrine or intellectual understanding.

Grace is an experience that is initiated by God, irrespective of worth or spiritual standing, that will touch our spirit and change us completely. The unique thing is that when God touches us He deposits within us an authority and power, enough to bring God the Glory without making us arrogant enough to think we have earned the privilege. Paul could say, I am what I am", meaning he was someone important in the Kingdom of God, but only because of God's grace, and he never abused that privilege. Peter put it this way, "We do not use God's grace as an occasion for the flesh.

John Knox just before he died woke from a sleep where he told his friends who were round his bed, of a dream he was having. He said that as he slept, he had been tempted to believe he had merited heaven and the blessing of God through the faithful discharge of his ministry. He said, "Blessed be God who has enabled me to quench that fiery dart, through the suggestion of Scripture, By the Grace of God I am what I am. Not I, but the grace of God which was with me".

God, through His grace has chosen to call us into the Ministry of Royal Rangers, and has entrusted to us the Gospel that can bring lifelong transformation to children. It will be your life that represents God through gracious living, Christian example and seasonal words, that can bring about this change.

It is by grace that we are saved and it is by grace that we serve.

Longfellow could take a worthless piece of paper, write a poem and make it worth thousands of dollars. That's  Genius.

Rockfeller could sign his name to a piece of paper and make it worth millions. That's power.

A tradesman could take material worth a few dollars and make it worth hundreds, that's skill.

An artist can take a few dollars worth of canvas and paint a picture worth thousands. That's art.

But God can take a worthless, sinful life, wash it in the blood of Jesus, put in His Spirit and make it a blessing to humanity. That's Grace.

Willingness to Work and Serve

Rebekah serves. Read Genesis 24, verses 10 till 67

Verse 13: A daughter of the town is coming out to draw water.

Verse 14: She even serves a stranger.

Verse 18: She offers water in an unselfish way to the stranger and even

Verse 19: draws water for 10 camels (verse 10). She was not even asked to serve this way (a camel drinks from 30 liters upwards (that is: more than 300 liters). She did not only walk, she even ran back and forth to finish her task and ministry as soon as possible. Of course she was pulling water for other purposes than only for a stranger and his camels.

Verse 26: After having seen the stranger worshipping the Lord, she even ran home to tell about what happened to her at the spring. The man gave her gifts (verse 22). And the story goes on: Finally she follows the stranger to become Isaac’s wife. In this case serving means serving a person you don't know yet. Serving in a practical sense with a very practical work (daily need). This kind of service required not only kindness but also the investment of the whole person.

In conclusion: Romans 12:1-3 Offering our bodies as living sacrifice, holy sacrifice, pleasing God this is a practical, spiritual act of worship. Doing so, we live according to the Royal Rangers Golden Rule Matthew 7:12: Do to others what you would have them do to you. Our acts talk much louder than our words.

Pray and confess to God that you always want to be available for practical service not only to people you know already, but also for strangers.
